Recent enough the Symantec security researchers discovered a
new cyber-attack campaign known as ‘Dragonfly’ (some security vendors also call
it ‘Energetic Bear’). According to Symantec, this attack campaign has “affected
1,018 unique organizations across 84 different countries.” The reports says
that the attack is currently focused on American and European industrial-energy
sector.
This attack starts with sending malware in phishing emails
to someone who is at senior position in the targeted company. Once activated,
this malware will then make use of the loop holes/bugs and exploit the
vulnerability by redirecting the visitors of the compromised website to
websites that are hosting exploit kit. This will in turn deliver the malware in
victim’s computer, which can be used to steal passwords or data or, simply
affect the PC performance.
Though this attack is only targeting the industrial sector,
but, this attack also serves as something that average users should worry
about. There are hundreds of similar internet based attacks that are
specifically targeted to average home users. Using security solutions like,
Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security, can keep you protected from all
online and offline attacks. They come with nifty set of features that makes
scanning and removing infections very easy and fast. Plus, these solutions can
be modified as per your needs, and, if you every come across some issues, then
the Norton support is just one call
away.
Like every other software, issues with Norton solutions are
also common. But availing support from good and reliable sources of help like
SupportMart and others can get you out of the issues effectively. The best part
is these companies are not limited to one brand, but provide support for
multiple brands. All you have to do is dial their respective phone number like,
Avast customer service phone number,
antivirus support number, or simply virus tech support and then get the
required help.
